The partnership

Blok Design Group produces fashion, accessory and eyewear imagery for many of the world’s leading maisons and retailers. We photograph, retouch, colour-match and design the pictures that showcase the precision, craft and vision within each piece.

We understand how meaningfully a luxury buyer is convinced by the grain of a leather, the weight of a silk and the depth of a polished acetate. Imagery must do the work of touch, smell and connection, being representative of the craftsmanship behind the piece.

The brief

Fashion maisons and retailers rightly demand that every piece’s detail — from stitching to hardware — is presented to the highest standards. Every combination of material responds differently to light, requiring attuned lighting and colour work, often coupled with house colours that must hold true across thousands of images each season.

Our approach

We tailor each shoot and post-production colour brief around the piece itself, based on its purpose, materials, construction and maison brand style guide and objectives.

Texture the eye can feel

When we shoot pieces created by maisons like Hermès, the grain of the leather and the precision of the stitching are the story. Our lighting and macro techniques render texture faithfully, so a client can read the quality of a hide from the image alone.

Colour held to the house standard

A maison’s colours are part of its identity. Our calibrated colour workflow holds every shade true from capture to screen to print, across dye lots, across materials and across every channel a collection appears in.

Structure and silhouette

A bag must hold its shape — a scarf must show both its drape and its design; a glasses frame must sit as it would on the face. Each piece is shaped and styled before a single frame is taken.

Hardware and glass under control

Polished clasps, buckles and lenses reflect the entire studio. We manage every reflection so hardware reads clean and gradient lenses keep their depth.
